With the legalization of cannabis gaining momentum here in the states and some places around the world, cannabis consumption lounges are soon to follow, cannabis consumption lounges are on the rise, and a very popular Las Vegas Dispensary has set out to outdo them all! Not only is Planet 13 Dispensary in Las Vegas, NV the world’s largest dispensary but they have it in their plans to add the world’s largest cannabis consumption lounge like no one has ever seen before.
Planet 13 Dispensary is an amazing 112,00 sqaure feet in total with 30,000 square feet of retail space. This is not your average dispensary it’s more like a weed mall. As you walk through you can see all their products displayed in fancy wooden and glass cases with cards next to each product telling the name and short description almost like you would see in a museum, They have cafes, bars, there are large spherical drones that change colors doing a light show while floating performing what looks like an ariel dance, interactive floors there is even a production facility where u can watch some of their products being made like the Gummies, Chocolates, and Drinks. They literally almost have it all! The one major thing missing It does not have a place to consume or smoke your cannabis.
Even though Nevada has passed legalization it is not permitted or legal to consume cannabis or cannabis products anywhere on the Vegas strip or anywhere gambling takes place. So, basically unless you own your own home in Vegas then you have no legal place to consume your cannabis! I know silly right, so shortly after legalization in the state of Nevada, Assembly bill 341 which would allow consumption lounges was put fourth and it passed with a 29-12 vote. The bill will also allow new businesses to have their own independent consumption lounge whether or not they have an existing dispensary, and existing dispensaries will be allowed to add a cannabis consumption lounges to their businesses, pretty exiting to say the least I can only imagine what Sin city has in store for us and how they will represent and cater to the cannabis culture in these consumption lounges, with their go big or go home attitude I’m sure it will be amazing to say the least.
I have to say this is a pretty exciting time for cannabis, never thought I would see the day cannabis was decriminalized or legal but I definitely never thought I would one day be able to walk into a lounge in a public place to consume cannabis alongside or with strangers who have a love for cannabis as well, it really is an amazing thing!
The Planet 13 consumption lounge was to open to the public sometime next year 2022 with no actual date set as of right now. As soon as we find out the opening to the lounge we will pass along the information.
